Review Advantage Setup Checklist

Welcome to Review Advantage! Now that you've set up your account we let's go over some of the most important settings in it. We've put together a checklist of the most important configurations that will help you get the most reviews in the shortest amount of time. Let's have a look!

Choose to which review sites you send customers

Ok, this is probably the most important configuration you'll make in your settings. Which online review sites do you want to offer up to the people who have left you positive feedback? To recap, you've entered the customer into the software, the system has reached out to them requesting feedback and the feedback they provided was POSITIVE. Woo Hoo! Let's choose the review sites that they will be able to click on to leave you a public review.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to Setup -> Review Site Promotion.
  2. Check the box of your preferred review site.
  3. Include the link to your page on the review site.
  4. Add up to 3 sites. (You can however many you like but we've found a maximum of 3 works best.)
  5. Click Submit at the bottom to save your changes.

FYI: You can drag the sites to change the order in which they appear to your customers. Also, if your preferred review site doesn't appear on the list, you can add any review site using the "Add Review Site" button located at the bottom.

Pro Tip! For some review sites you'll be able to link customers straight to the page on which they provide the actual rating/review (As opposed to simply your main profile page). This is always ideal. Not sure how to do this? Drop us a line!

Customize the feedback request pages

We've packaged your Review Advantage account with some nice defaults for the texts that are shown on the feedback request pages. However, it's always nice to customize these so that they reflect your own voice and brand. Feel free to make any edits you want.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to Setup -> Feedback Pages.
  2. Click on the Customize Message and Feedback Pages button for the "Initial Feedback Pages", "Desktop Positive Feedback Pages" or "Desktop Negative Feedback Pages" areas.
  3. Edit the contents of the fields presented.
  4. Click Submit at the bottom to save your changes.

FYI: You can choose to show / hide the videos that are shown on the Positive and Negative Feedback Pages. You can also include your own video by adding its embed code in the "Video Embed Code" field.

Pro Tip! Include your logo and custom graphics on each of these pages by clicking the image icon and uploading your artwork. Also, you can change the main color used on the pages to better match your brand by selecting it in the "Review Page Color" field at the top.

Customize the emails sent to customers

Your customers receive emails from you at each stage of the review collection process. Customize the content of these to better suit your needs.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to Setup -> Feedback Email.
  2. Click on any of the panels to expand it.
  3. Edit the email's subject, content and more.
  4. Click Submit at the bottom to save your changes.

Pro Tip! Include your logo and custom graphics on each of these emails by clicking the image icon and uploading your artwork.

Share positive feedback on social media, automatically

This is a great feature that helps broadcast your positive feedback to the public even when the customer did not post it on one of your preferred review sites.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to Setup -> Social Media Setup.
  2. Click Yes on the "Share review on..." as well as "... Auto post" options for the social media site(s) where you want to auto-post.
  3. Follow the instructions displayed in the pop-up window.
  4. Click Submit at the bottom to save your changes.

FYI: An eye-catching image will be posted with the review along with any additional information you wish to include. (Make sure "Text & Image" is selected under the Post Content on Social Media field). You can also edit the colors used in the image.

Pro Tip! You can also share reviews on social media manually, on a one-by-one basis. To do this, click Yes on the "Share review on..." option but not on the corresponding "... Auto post" option. You can then share any review manually from the Feedback & Ratings tab.

What's next?

Now that you've got these settings configured, you're ready to start getting amazing reviews from your customers. Of course there are other important things you can do to ensure success and that you're getting the most out of the software. Here's a few bonus tips:

Get text alerts whenever someone sends feedback

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to Setup -> Admin Information.
  2. Add one phone number in the "Phone(For SMS Notifications)" field
  3. Click Submit at the bottom to save your changes.
Assign feedbacks to individual employees or departments

When you send a feedback request to a customer you can choose an employee or department to associate that feedback with. You then have access to reports that show review performance over time.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to Setup -> Admin Information.
  2. Use the "Add Employee" button under the Employee field
  3. Click Submit at the bottom to save your changes.
Beef up your micro site

Make sure your micro site has links to your social media pages, your hours of operation, logo and any other key info.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to Setup -> Listings Manager.
  2. Fill out as many fields as possible.
  3. Click Submit at the bottom to save your changes.
Monitor your online reputation

Review Advantage will pull in your most recent reviews on the major sites and include them in your reporting as well as posting them to your micro site and website "latest reviews" widget. Simply add the links to your profiles on these sites in your settings.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to Setup -> Review Aggregator.
  2. Enter links to your profile pages for any of the sites provided.
  3. Click Submit at the bottom to save your changes.
Set your "Positive review threshold"

Decide how many stars a customer needs to give in order for the review to be considered positive and for the system to offer up the links to you public review sites. If you have auto-sharing of positive reviews on to your micro site and social media sites, this setting also determines which reviews get auto-posted. (The default is set to 4 stars.)

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to Setup -> Feedback Settings.
  2. Select the star amount from the "Feedback Threshold" field.
  3. Click Submit at the bottom to save your changes.
Add the "Latest Reviews" widget to your website

Spread the word about your positive reviews even further by adding a "Latest Reviews" widget to your website.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to Setup -> Review Streaming.
  2. Choose the option that applies to you (Wordpress or non-Wordpress)
  3. Add the provided code to your website
